Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man who has been identified as a custodian of the Municipal Retention Center of Playa del Carmen was found shot to death early Friday morning.
In a statement, the municipal government announced the discovery of the body at approximately 6:40 a.m. between Avenues 130 and 135. They say the body of 31-year-old Ismael F.N., who had been a custodian in the Municipal Retention Center since October of 2011, was found.
According to the police report, the deceased had a 9 mm caliber bullet wound near the temple. They say the shooting took place while the agent was on his way to work.
The municipal government added “we condemn the events and any acts of violence that threatens the peace and security of the population for which we have asked the corresponding authorities to carry out investigations to find out the motive for the crime and, according to the results thereof, proceed within the law.”
