Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen resident arrested for drug dealing is believed related to a string of tourist muggings. On Thursday, municipal police arrested Iván Adán “N” from the streets of Ejido in west Playa del Carmen.
He was detained after officers found him in possession of crystal meth.
Since his arrest, authorities say they believe he is related to city muggings that have resulted in physical injuries to tourists.
“The State Attorney General’s Office reports the arrest of a person identified as Iván Adán “N” for his probable participation in drug dealing,” the Agency reported.
During the first acts of investigation involving Iván Adán “N”, he is being investigated for the crime of aggravated robbery, perpetrated in various parts of the municipality of Solidaridad, including injuring tourists.”
