Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — In a press release, state officials report the detainment of Angel H for extortion against local businesses.
La Fiscalía General del Estado says Investigation Police, armed with an arrest warrant, took Angel H into custody for extortion of a business located in the region of Julio 28. They say Angel H is related to the Achilles gang and is believed the person signing extortion threats being left in businesses. He is also being investigated for his probable participation in other criminal acts in the municipality of Solidaridad.
Police say a cell phone found on his person at the time of his arrest could be related to the extortion calls made to merchants.
