Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad police have detained a man after being accused of injuring three people with a machete. On Monday, 21-year-old José “N” from Yucatan was arrested after neighbors reported an aggressive man on public streets.
“After responding to a report to the 9-1-1 emergency number about an aggressive person, the Municipal Police arrested a subject in possession of possible narcotics and a machete, and also provided aid to three injured people,” the Seguridad Pública of Solidaridad reported.
“Upon arriving at Muyil Street and Isla Mujeres Street in the 28 de Julio neighborhood, the officers observed three people injured with sharp puncture wounds, so they requested medical support.
“They also followed up on a subject who ran towards a quarters, who was pointed out by the victims as the one who attacked them moments before.”
Police captured the man and “found among his belongings a black bag that contained one wrapper with possible marijuana and two with a substance to be determined, as well as a machete.”
Police proceeded to arrest 21-year-old José “N” from Yucatan. One of the three people he is accused of injuring with a machete was taken to hospital.
