Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Mexico City man was arrested in Playa del Carmen Wednesday after being found with a large amount of narcotics. In a news brief, the SSP of Solidaridad reported that police from the Secretariat of Public Security and Municipal Transit of Solidaridad made the arrest in the Las Palmas subdivision.

Early Wednesday, “elements of the Municipal Preventive Police received a report about a subject in possession of narcotics aboard a Jetta Volkswagen, so they moved to Palomas Street.

“Upon arrival, they located the vehicle and a subject inside it. Upon approaching, police observed that inside there was a suitcase that contained possible marijuana. After a security inspection, they confirmed that it was three wrapped packages and 10 bags of marijuana as well as three packages and a glass bottle with a substance to be determined,” they reported.

“Due to the above, the subject identified as Alberto “N”, 67 years old, originally from Mexico City, was insured and made available to the State Attorney General’s Office.”
