Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Repairs to a section of Playa del Carmen highway is on hold reports mayor Lili Campos. Campos provided the city update Wednesday in a press conference where she explained that she still hopes to eventually have that section completed.
Campos said that the city will continue to do its part in the repairs, but the section that relates to Fonatur has been suspended. She explained that the company hired to do the work along the Federal 307 highway has returned their contract, leaving Fonatur to find another company to do it.
Campos detailed that Fonatur will hire another company to repair the eight kilometer section of federal highway that runs through the city of Playa del Carmen. In the meantime, no work will be done. The center of the PDC roadway was modified to accommodate the Maya Train, which after months of construction, turned out to not be necessary due to a change of plans.
