Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A speeding car that ran a red light, passing through an intersection, has left a man in serious condition in hospital.
The accident happened at the intersection of avenida Constituyentes and 40th Street in the city center. Witnesses say the driver of a red Toyota ran a red light, crashing into an oncoming scooter. The impact threw the scooter driver several meters off his bike, where he reportedly landed on his head.
The unidentified man was rushed to hospital in serious condition. The driver of the Toyota was arrested by police.
