Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad firemen were on scene at a late night fire Sunday in west Playa del Carmen. Two buildings reportedly used to store lumber caught fire in the Bosques de Cristo Rey neighborhood.
Firemen were able to control the fire and eventually put it out. Three LP gas tanks were removed from the burning buildings during the event. There were no injuries reported, only the loss of both buildings.
Authorities are still working on finding a cause for the fire. In a brief statement, Solidaridad Civil Protection y Bomberos said “firefighters and operational personnel assisted in a fire at two wooden buildings in the Bosques de Cristo Rey neighborhood.
“Thanks to the rapid response of the firefighters, they were able to control and extinguish the fire.

“Three LP gas tanks were also removed from the site and taken to the fire station for safekeeping. Only material damage was reported.”
