Playa del Carmen extortionist arrested in flagrante delicto

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police in Playa del Carmen arrested a youth who arrived at a business to collect extortion money. The arrest happened on February 23 when, according to police, Dennis Brandon “N” was caught in flagrante delicto when he came to collect the floor rights.

Dennis Brandon “N” was taken into custody “for his probable participation in events possibly constituting the crime of extortion, to the detriment of a victim whose identity is withheld.

The events occurred on February 23 of the current year in a commercial establishment located in this municipality where the now detained man arrived and told the manager that an alleged commander sent him to collect the so-called “floor right”.

The victim corroborated the threat after speaking by telephone with the so-called commander.

“It was then that upon making an appearance, Dennis Brandon “N” was arrested in flagrante delicto and placed at the disposal of the FGE Quintana Roo,” police reported.

Dennis Brandon “N” is being investigated by the Kidnapping and Extortion division of the Prosecutor’s Office.
