Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Local authorities have charged a man with at least two extortion attempts against the same Playa del Carmen business. Authorities have reported on the detainment of Iván Ernesto “N”, who was picked up in the streets of the El Petén neighborhood in north Playa del Carmen.
According to their statement, Iván Ernesto “N” participated in the events that occurred on August 15 and 16 of this year, when he threatened the managers of an establishment and demanded the payment of money in order not to cause harm to the business, workers and clients.
“When the managers ignored the threats, a group of people fired shots at the facade of the business, actions in which the defendant today was probably involved,” they reported.
