Playa del Carmen Corona beer company robbed by armed individuals

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Employees of the Corona beer company in Playa del Carmen say armed individuals broke into the office and stripped staff of the 650,000 peso that was waiting for pickup by a security company.

The incident happened Monday night when staff say they were surprised by the two armed intruders who entered the office and demanded the cash. Employees of the beer company had the cash divided into two bags. They were waiting for the arrival of a security company for transfer.

Despite police efforts, the suspects were not located. At the scene, elements of the ministerial police began an investigation, ordering the legal representatives of the company to file the corresponding complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office.
