Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A shuttle bus passenger van that was traveling from Cancun to Playa del Carmen created chaos at a police filter after being unable to stop in time.
Police stationed at the highway filter took charge of what ended up being a three-vehicle accident after the driver of the combi slammed into the back of an SUV that had slowed for the filter topes. Due to his excessive speed, the combi driver was unable to stop in time, hitting the SUV who in turn, slammed into the back of a cargo vehicle in front of them.
Four people were left with injuries and transferred to various facilities by ambulance for medical attention. The driver of the comi, which belonged to the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río union, was arrested and held for the Public Ministry.
