Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man who has been identified as a Playa del Carmen combi driver was shot and killed outside a central bar during early morning hours.
The shooting took place outside the bar El Abrevadero on Avenue 45 around 2:40 a.m. The establishment was apparently closed when police received the call of shots fired. Upon their arrival, they found the lifeless body of a 50-something year old male laying in the street.
Aside from the body of the victim, elements of the State Police reportedly found eight shell casings that had been allegedly fired by subjects from a motorcycle.
The deceased man has been identified as José Armando M.S,. driver with the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río taxi union.
Three other shootings have been recorded in that area this year, the latest in August when a man was shot and killed outside the same bar by subjects on a motorcycle.
