Plan underway for circuit road to connect northwest communities with Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — The comprehensive plan for the construction of a circuit road to connect rural communities is underway. Solidaridad Secretary of Social Justice and Citizen Participation of Solidaridad, Santiago Chávez says the road would connect rural communities with Playa del Carmen.

He say a circuit road to connect northwest communities such as Jacitno Canek (Campesinos Unidos), San Carlos, Ejido Lázaro Cardenas, Santa Mónica and Nuevo Noh Bec would be beneficial to more than 3,000 people.

Chávez says they are currently in the planning stage of laying out the circuit, which involves identifying the owners of the land through which the circuit would pass. This part is a bit tedious, he says, since some properties are private and others are being disputed.

The circuit road would connect with the federal highway and would provide better access for rural residents to Playa del Carmen. He said the National Electricity Commission is carrying out surveys and diagnoses in those communities to be able to install power lines.
