Holbox, Q.R. — A surveillance operation will be in effect during the Easter holidays for the island of Holbox. With the anticipated arrival of thousands for Santa Semana, Armando Can Rodríguez, the director of Civil Protection for the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas, reported the stepped up presence of authorities.
He said the physical presence of authorities will be reinforced on the island’s roads and beaches to ensure a safe holiday for both residents and tourists.
The Civil Protection director explained that the additional security will be in coordination with the Directorate of Public Security. Their main operation focus, he said, will be alcohol-related offences including impaired driving.
