Paraíso, Tabasco — Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) announces that the Olmeca Refinery in Paraíso, Tabasco, has been awarded. The refinery was awarded third place in the IPMA 2025 (International Project Management Association) International Award for Excellence in Projects.

The Olmeca refinery, which produces Pemex Magna Gasoline, Pemex Premium Gasoline, Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel (DUBA), Coke, Sulfur, LP Gas, Propylene and Ecological Diesel (DECO), won in the megaproject category.

“This recognition positions the Olmeca Refinery as one of the most outstanding large-scale projects globally, thanks to its planning, execution, and operational efficiency, reaffirming our country’s commitment to innovation and development in the energy sector,” Pemex said.

The award recognizes excellence in the planning, execution and operation of large-scale projects.

“This achievement is the result of the effort and dedication of the managers and employees who participated in the construction and implementation of this project, which represents a fundamental pillar of Mexico’s energy sovereignty,” Pemex said.
