Minatitlán, Veracruz — A fire in the Minatitlán Refinery, of Veracruz has left three Pemex workers burned and another with a sprain. On Wednesday, Pemex released a statement regarding their latest incident.
“Petróleos Mexicanos (PEMEX) informs that a fire was attended to at the U-100 plant located in Sector No. 3 of the Minatitlán Refinery, in Veracruz, which was immediately controlled by fire personnel from the facility.
“This incident caused injuries to three workers due to burns and another due to a sprain for which they were transferred to the PEMEX Regional Hospital in Minatitlán for treatment.
“The refinery’s production was not affected and once conditions allow, Petróleos Mexicanos will proceed to carry out the root cause analysis of this accident.
“PEMEX reiterates its commitment to the safety of the workers that are part of this institution, as well as to the communities where it is active, to act in a timely manner in the attention of this type of event.”
