Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A 30-inch water leak in a main Playa del Carmen line has been repaired. On Tuesday water company Aguakan reported that “due to the magnitude of the leak, our brigade continues repair work since Monday night. This could cause low water pressure in the Playa del Carmen area. We keep working.”
Aguakan personnel reportedly worked into the night to locate the leak and make the repair. It was around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday when the company reported a successful repair to the line break that happened in one of the main lines of the Catchment Area.
On Tuesday afternoon, Aguakan posted “The brigade has finished the arduous work of repairing the 30″ leak in the Catchment Area, which affected the supply of drinking water in the city. We have started pumping gradually, the service will return to normal in the next few hours.”
Aguakan did not report on the cause of the leak that caused the city’s water supply to be shut off.
