PDC taxi drivers join agreement to provide services to Tulum airport and Maya Train

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Taxi drivers from the Municipality of Solidaridad have joined in the agreements to provide their services to the upcoming Tulum airport. Luis Herrera Quiam, General Secretary of the Lázaro Cárdenas del Río taxi drivers’ union in Playa del Carmen, said the PDC taxi drivers will also be able to offer their services in the Tulum zone of the Maya Train.

Herrera Quiam explained that they have held meetings with authorities in search of federal permission to provide the service. He said that due to their geographical position, the Tulum taxi drivers will be the biggest beneficiaries, but added that there is a good relationship between them and agreements will be made in which everyone benefits.

He says with that, they have started with the corresponding steps to obtain federal licenses.

He said that the goal is to provide a high-quality service and that courses will be taught in customer service, driving and other areas focused on improving the transportation service.
