PDC police score mega pot bust during bad driving traffic stop

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat (SSCM) arrested a 31-year-old man during a traffic stop. The man was taken into custody after police noticed his car was filled with bags of marijuana.

The stop happened in the Real Ibiza neighborhood when police pulled over the driver of a Volkswagen GTI for bad driving. According to the Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana Municipal (SSCM), the driver was stopped by police for “evasive maneuvers that put other drivers in danger.”

Their initial request to pull over went ignored. According to police, instead of pulling over, the driver sped up, at which time police began a brief chase. Once pulled over, police located 67 bags of pot. Arrested was 31 year old Marco Antonio “N” from Tabasco.

“The Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat (SSCM) of Solidaridad arrested a male individual for the probable commission of drug crimes in the Real Ibiza neighborhood, seizing a vehicle and 67 packages that were believed to be narcotics.

“During a surveillance patrol, SSCM officers observed a Volkswagen GTI vehicle performing evasive maneuvers, endangering other drivers. After signaling the driver to stop, the driver ignored the instructions, initiating a brief chase until they were able to intercept him.

“Upon conducting the corresponding inspection, officers seized multiple packages containing dried green vegetables that were believed to be marijuana.

“Marco Antonio “N,” 31, originally from Tabasco, was detained along with the seized vehicle and taken to the Attorney General’s Office for the corresponding legal proceedings,” the SSCM reported.
