Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Official charges have been laid against a Playa del Carmen man for five counts of attempted homicide. The State Attorney General (FGE) says Tomás “N” was brought to trial for the crimes of attempted homicide Wednesday.
A judge has ordered him to remain behind bars while he faces the five counts. The five counts of attempted homicide are against his former girlfriend and her four children that happened last month.
“Initial investigations indicate that on November 18, 2024, the defendant allegedly beat and tried to strangle his ex-partner in a cellar-type room. He hit a minor victim on the head and another victim in the stomach with a hammer, in addition to opening the gas tank valve and trying to light matches to possibly set them on fire.
“However, the police arrived at the scene to arrest him and place him at the disposal of authorities,” they reported.
