Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A house was consumed by fire in the In-House residential settlement of west Playa del Carmen Wednesday. Solidaridad firemen did their best to battle the blaze that was being fed by strong gusts.
The fire happened Wednesday night at an address on Bahía de Corea Street and Habana Streets. Neighbors called 9-1-1 after flames were seen shooting out the top of a home.
Municipal Police supported firemen at the scene while they fought the fire. Authorities were at the home more than an hour before the fire was deemed officially out. Due to wind gusts and extremely dry material, firemen were unable to save the home.
There was no reports of injuries. Solidaridad firemen have not reported on a possible cause for the fire.
