Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen firemen reported two fires Wednesday in central Playa del Carmen. Emergency services were at the scene of a fire Wednesday outside a makeshift homeless shelter.

The fire broke out at the intersection of CTM Avenue and Playa del Carmen Boulevard due to burning garbage. Protección Civil, Prevención de Riesgos y Bomberos de Solidaridad did not report any injuries in the fire.
Firemen were also called to the scene of a business fire in the Bellavista neighborhood early Wednesday morning. There, they force-opened a front metal door to access the interior of the building.
That fire was also extinguished without incident they reported in a brief statement.

“During the early morning hours, our Civil Protection and Fire Department personnel responded to and contained a fire at a business in the Bellavista neighborhood. They also responded to a report of a brush fire on Playa del Carmen Boulevard and CTM Avenue in the morning where they carried out the necessary maneuvers to extinguish the flames and prevent them from spreading.”
