PDC City Council looking into seaside development for lack of roads and beach access

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Solidaridad City Council is currently investigating the situation of the Corasol residential development located in north Playa del Carmen. The seaside development, which has been around since 2008, has not delivered its green areas or roads to ensure beach access.

Rocío Beltrán Sánchez, Municipal Secretary of Territorial Planning, says the city is investigating the land situation to ensure the company respects the boundaries as marked by the municipality of Solidaridad. She says they are also looking into building height, which she points out is not 12 floors as per what they are currently constructing.

She says along with green areas and beach access, the city requires them to comply for the extension of Fifth Avenue. She says that the previous administrations did not follow up on those donation areas, but they have already resumed that process.
