Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Police in central Playa del Carmen arrested a man they saw attempting to steal a vehicle. The man, identified as 31 year old José Alejandro “N”, was seen by patrolling officers in Gonzalo Guerrero attempting to jimmy a motorcycle with tools.
When that failed, he began to drag the motorcycle from its parked spot, at which time police intervened. While reviewing the motorcycle’s data, they found it was registered to someone else.
Police proceeded to arrest José Alejandro “N” for vehicle theft. In a statement, the Seguridad Ciudadana Solidaridad (SSC) said, “the Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat (SSCM) arrested a male person for the probable commission of the crime of vehicle theft in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood.
“During a preventive surveillance tour, SSCM elements observed a man manipulating a motorcycle with a hammer and a screwdriver and subsequently dragging the motorcycle.

“Upon intervening and corroborating the vehicle’s data, it was determined that it was registered in another person’s name, so it was seized. José Alejandro “N”, 31 years old, originally from Quintana Roo, was arrested for the corresponding legal proceedings.”
