Cancun, Q,R, — Passenger traffic at the Cancun International Airport continues to rise with airport officials reporting 424 operations Wednesday. Managing company Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste (Asur) says the airport had 214 arrivals that consisted of 89 national and 125 international.
ASUR also reported 210 departures of which 88 were national and 122 international. They remarked that some of the international destinations include Atlanta, Baltimore, Bogotá, Boston, Buenos Aires, Calgary, Camagüey, Caracas, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver and Detroit.
The international carriers were Air Canada, Air Transat, Alaska, American, Avianca, Conviasa, Copa, Delta, Frontier, Jet Blue, Spirit, Southwest, Sun Country, United and West Jet.
Passenger traffic is expected to continue to rise with the announcement of flights by Air France. Air France announced that departures from Cancun will be at 6:35 p.m. and take-off from Paris will be at 10:55 a.m. The airline says they are offering the flights into Cancun International until March 31, 2021.
“The arrival of flight AF 650 to Terminal 4 of the Cancun Airport continues to strengthen our flight program and reaffirms our commitment to Mexico and the state of Quintana Roo.
“We thank the state authorities, the Tourist Promotion Council and Asur, since by collaborating together, it has been possible to resume the usual service to the city, recovering the operation prior to the health situation,” explained Guilhem Mallet, General Director of Air France -KLM in Mexico.
