Paramedics treat six in single-vehicle passenger van accident outside Playa del Carmen

Playa del Carmen, Q,.R. — Paramedics treated six van passengers for minor injuries in a Sunday morning accident outside Playa del Carmen. Emergency services were sent in response to a 9:30 a.m. single-vehicle highway crash north of the city.

The driver of the passenger van was heading south when he overturned his unit. Excessive speed is suspected to have caused the van to fall onto its side as he began to take a corner.

The driver of the van was transporting six people at the time of the accident. Emergency services, including paramedics, arrived at the scene along the Federal 307 where they located the van laying on its side in the highway’s centre median.

The van fell onto the doors, forcing everyone inside to crawl out a back broken window. Paramedics treated those from inside the Nissan Urvan, reporting only minor injuries.
