Bacalar, Q.R. — The driver of a company vehicle was killed Monday night in a single vehicle rollover in the municipality of Bacalar.
The accident happened near the community of Xul-Ha around 7:30 p.m. along the federal 307 highway.
Highway motorists requested emergency services after seeing the driver lose control and roll the pickup truck. National Guard were first on scene to section of the road for emergency personnel.
Paramedics responding to the request for assistance evaluated the driver on scene and pronounced him dead. He has not been publicly identified. The out-of-state vehicle was a company truck.
The company had recently set up in the city of Chetumal to provide services for the Maya Train. Police did not comment on a possible cause for the accident that claimed the life of the driver.
