Paramedics confirm death of man who collapsed in central PDC

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Red Cross paramedics confirmed the death of a man found laying in a public space Monday. Municipal Police made the ambulance request after citizen reports of him laying on pavement near Fundadores Park in central Playa del Carmen.

Emergency personnel responded to the 10:25 a.m. report at around 11:00 a.m. between Juarez Avenue and Fifth Avenue. The first police report indicated that “the man had what appeared to be bruises on his face and was no longer breathing, so the intervention of paramedics was necessary.”

Paramedics confirmed the man was deceased and that his body did not show any signs of physical violence. The man, who has not been named, is believed to have been homeless.

According to witnesses, the man collapsed while walking near the park. An autopsy will confirm the official cause of death.
