Bacalar, Q.R. — Two people have been ordered to remain jailed while facing charges of kidnapping and vicarious violence. The couple were arrested after kidnapping a minor and physically assaulted her mother.
The State Attorney General (FGE) reported Thursday on “the prosecution of two people for their probable participation in the crimes of detention and vicarious violence to the detriment of a minor and a woman.”
According to their investigation, on January 6, 2026, Jorge Isaac “N” and Norma Eliud “N” were accused of detaining a minor and physically assaulting her mother, who, as a result, was absent to file the complaint with the Prosecutor’s Office, a situation that the accused took advantage of to abduct the minor and take her from Quintana Roo.
Following field and technological investigations by the Investigative Police, the minor was located and rescued in Mexico City.
Likewise, an arrest warrant was issued and executed in collaboration with the Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City.
Jorge Isaac “N” and Norma Eliud “N” were returned to Quintana Roo. During their arraignment hearing, the judge issued a formal indictment for the crimes of kidnapping and vicarious violence against both individuals and imposed pretrial detention for the duration of the proceedings.
