Pair to stand trial for attempted murder of Bacalar men

Bacalar, Q.R. — Two men will stand trial for the attempted murder of two victims from the town of Melchor Ocampo in the municipality of Bacalar. Samuel “N” and Jacob “N” have been charged “for acts constituting the crime of attempted homicide to the detriment of two victims,” authorities reported Thursday.

On June 22 of this year, the two victims, who shared a home together in the town of Melchor Ocampo, were arguing with Samuel “N” and Jacob “N” at which time “Jacob “N” tried to injure one of them with a chainsaw,” the State Attorney General (FGE) reported.

The owner of the home asked the men to leave, however, they later returned with guns “they allegedly used against the victims, causing physical injuries before fleeing aboard a vehicle,” the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) reported.

Both Samuel “N” and Jacob “N” were captured by Investigative Police and transferred to the Social Reintegration Center in Chetumal where they remain.
