Pair sentenced to more than 30 years for murders of three Playa del Carmen taxi drivers

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two men have been sentenced to more than 30 years for the murders of three Playa del Carmen taxi drivers. The men were handed their sentences over the weekend.

Irvin Inti “N” and Carlos Arturo “N” have been found guilty for the August 2022 shooting deaths of three Playa del Carmen taxi drivers. In a statement, the State Attorney General said “the events for which they were convicted occurred on August 24, 2022, when by order of Irvin Inti “N”, they arrived aboard a motorcycle driven by Carlos Arturo “N” to a home located on Atila Street in the Villas del Sol subdivision.

“Outside the home were the three victims whom Carlos Arturo “N” shot with a firearm and then fled the scene. As a result of the attack, the three taxi drivers lost their lives.”

On Saturday, Irvin Inti “N” was sentenced to 35 years and six months while Carlos Arturo “N” was sentenced to 30 years.

“Both convicted persons must pay a fine of 144,330 pesos, in addition to reparations in both material and moral aspects in the amount of 486,873.20 pesos,” the statement added. Authorities did not provide a reason for the deadly attack.
