Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two males found with 21 stolen suitcases have been taken into Playa del Carmen police custody. The pair were arrested for theft from the parking lot of a shopping plaza Friday after a 911 report by witnesses.
Police arrived at the Galaxia del Carmen II area where witnesses told police about the pair smashing windows to steal bags from inside. They told police that the pair arrived aboard a Dodge van and proceeded to break car windows to access vehicles with suitcases.
An operation by the Municipal Public Security Secretariat successfully located both individuals on 20th Street with 110th Avenue in the Ejido neighborhood. An inspection of their van revealed 21 stolen suitcases. Police say 29-year-old Daniel N and 18-year-old Elmer N were arrested for theft.
