Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Playa del Carmen police were quick to detain two men who allegedly robbed an employer of 200,000 peso on Friday. The robbery happened outside a bank of the Centro Maya shopping plaza just before noon.
The employer, who made the withdraw of cash to pay his Tulum construction workers, was intercepted by the armed pair who stripped him of his money at gunpoint before fleeing on their motorcycle.
Parking lot witnesses made the call to police, reporting an armed robbery in progress. Municipal officers arrived and were able to quickly locate the two men on their bike, which was spotted traveling along Avenue 115.
The two men, identified as Marco N and Ricardo N, were officially arrested after being positively identified by the victim.
