Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen painter was rushed to hospital after being shocked by a set of electric lines. Paramedics were called to Selva Maya Monday morning to transport the local worker to hospital.

According to available information, the man was one of at least two hired to paint the outside of a building. He was on a ladder with an extended wet roller when he accidently touched a set of overhead power lines.
Red Cross paramedics along with firemen from PDC Civil Protection transferred the painter to hospital with burns over 70 percent of his body and injuries sustained from a ladder fall of approximately two meters.
