Package of fentanyl bound for Illinois discovered in Coahuila courier company

Torreón, Coahuila — A package containing approximately 2,000 fentanyl pills bound for the U.S. was intercepted inside a courier company. During a routine review of packages, canines of the National Guard picked up on the scent.

During their physical review of the package, authorities located a black leather bag that had been packaged for sending. Inside that was a transparent plastic bag containing the 2,000 pills.

In a statement from the National Guard, they reported that the package was found inside a courier company in the city of Torreón in the state of Coahuila. It had originated in the state of Durango and was labeled bound for an address in Illinois.
