Bacalar, Q.R. — More than a dozen people were treated for bee stings at the Bacalar lagoon Saturday. Paramedics transferred 13 people to the local medical centre for care after being stung.
Paramedics were called when a group of people were swarmed by bees. The incidenet happened on Avenida Costera at the Bacalar lagoon Saturday afternoon.
Responding medical personnel confirmed stings, transferring a total of 13 people for medical care. They were taken to the IMSS Bienestar clinic.
Bacalar firemen were requested to remove a hive located as the source of the bees.
It is not clear how they came into contact with the bees. Authorities did not confirm the type of bees.
