Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Ongoing winds were responsible for a police gathering at a central Playa del Carmen beach Monday. The group of officers arrived at the beach in response to the report of a firearm.
The gun, which was believed once buried in sand, became exposed due to the strong winds. The handgun was verified ligament by officers and removed from its found location at the end of 8th Street in central Playa del Carmen.
The gun was apparently noticed by a patrolling officer. Authorities were in the area for nearly an hour before finally leaving with the secured weapon.
