Playa del Carmen, Q. R. — One of the passengers inside a mototaxi involved in an accident Wednesday has died. The unidentified passenger was one of three injured when the small unit collided with a large bus.
On Wednesday afternoon, authorities responded to the report of an accident between a mototaxi and bus near Villas del Sol. Transit officers arrived at the corner of Chit Avenue and CTM where they found three female mototaxi passengers with serious injuries.
According to preliminary information, the driver of the mototaxi allegedly failed to stop at the marked intersection, resulting in the collision with the bus. On Thursday morning, one of the female passengers died in hospital from injuries sustained in that accident.
The driver of the mototaxi was arrested from the scene. Police have not reported on any charges.
