No injuries in afternoon PDC pawn shop fire

Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A centrally located pawn shop in Playa del Carmen caught fire Thursday. Municipal firemen and EMTs were part of the first responders to the 30th Avenue store.

The fire was reported around 3:00 p.m. Preliminary reports say the fire started inside the store’s computer area and quickly spread. Everyone from inside the store was able to get out.

Great mounds of black smoke was seen coming from the inside of the store while firemen worked to put out flames. An official cause for the fire was not released. There were no injures reported. An estimate in material damages was also not provided.
