Costa Maya, Q.R. — Nine people were injured Saturday during a highway accident between a small cargo truck and a passenger combi. The afternoon accident had police attend the scene near the Ribera del Río Hondo where they found a crumpled truck and overturned combi.
Eight passengers and the driver from inside the public transport van were hurt after the two vehicle impact caused the combi to fall onto its side. The initial accident scene was attended to by passing motorists who called for help.
Responding police arrived to find the highway littered with debris and hurt people laying along the Ucum-Unión roadway. Ambulances transferred to injured to nearby hospital.
