Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A young nightwatchmen continues to recover after being shot late Saturday. The security guard was hit by a bullet while on duty at the new Playa del Carmen Tren Maya station.
His father and brother, who are also security guards for same company, rushed the 19-year-old to Playa del Carmen hospital in a mototaxi to be treated for a gunshot wound. The young man was reportedly shot in the leg near a Maya Train warehouse during his nighttime security rounds.
The shooting happened at the facilities of the new Tren Maya station in the Villas del Sol subdivision in west Playa del Carmen around 11:00 p.m. Saturday.
José “N” was treated for one bullet wound to his right leg at the General Hospital. The male alleged responsible for shooting security guard José “N” fled on a motorcycle. Authorities are investigating if the shooting was a direct or random attack.
