New 2026-2027 airline routes from Canada and U.S. heading to Tulum International

Tulum, Q.R. — Five new airline routes to the Tulum International Airport have been announced for the 2026-2027 travel season. The new routes include four from Canada and one from the United States.

Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism says the additions will strengthen Tulum’s international air connectivity during the 2026-2027 winter season with the return of seasonal operations to Canada and the United States.

Tourism Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora emphasized that expanding connectivity is part of the strategy to strengthen Tulum’s competitiveness and improve the travel experience.

“Air connectivity is a fundamental element for continuing to strengthen tourism. Each new route brings more visitors closer to the natural, cultural, gastronomic, and archaeological riches of Tulum, generates well-being for local communities, and helps ensure that the benefits of tourism reach more people through shared prosperity,” she noted.

During the last quarter of this year, flights from the Canadian cities of Montreal, Toronto, Calgary and Quebec City will be added along with flights from Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, the airport that serves metropolitan New York.

Travel options from Canada and the U.S. will be expanded through Air Canada, Air Transat, WestJet and United Airlines.

Air Canada will operate a direct flight from Montreal starting October 29, 2026, to April 8, 2027, with one flight per week on Thursdays. Air Transat will connect Tulum with Montreal from October 25, 2026, to April 18, 2027, with one flight per week on Sundays.

Air Canada will offer a direct Toronto flight from October 25, 2026, to April 11, 2027, with one weekly flight on Sundays. WestJet will operate this route from October 31, 2026, to April 24, 2027, with two weekly flights on Thursdays and Saturdays.

WestJet will also operate direct Calgary flights starting October 29, 2026, with two weekly frequencies, on Thursdays and Saturdays.

Air Transat will connect Quebec with Tulum starting October 25, 2026, with a weekly Sunday flight.

United Airlines will operate the direct Newark route from December 17, 2026 to January 24, 2027, with two weekly frequencies, on Thursdays and Sundays.

Rodríguez Zamora highlighted that these routes are part of a comprehensive strategy promoted by President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo to strengthen Tulum’s competitiveness through actions that make visiting the destination more accessible, improve mobility, strengthen the quality of tourist services, and promote a better experience for travelers.
