Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man driving a stolen vehicle ended up crashing it into the fence of a residential park. Police responded to neighbor’s request for assistance Sunday afternoon when the speeding car hit the Villas del Sol metal fence.
Area residents were sympathetic and tried to help the driver until another neighbor arrived announcing the man had just stolen his car. Neighbors at the scene subdued the man instead, holding him until police arrived.
Preliminary reports said that the man who stole the car was an employee of the owner, who had left the keys inside. Once the owner realized what was happening, others attempted to pursue the stolen car and driver, which is when he lost control and crashed into the metal fence of the park.
The man was arrested. The owner of the car filed an official complaint against the employee.
