National Guard locates six tapped Pemex gas lines in two states

Tlaxcoapan, Hidalgo — After a recent pipeline gas fire that was caused by illegal tapping, government officials began inspections in search of others. In a press release, the National Guard reported finding six clandestine intakes for fuel theft.

The agency says the six tapped pipelines were located in Hidalgo and Puebla. They were found during security tours in Santiago Tulantepec, Singuilucan, Epazoyucan, Nopala de Villagrán and Tlaxcoapan, in Hidalgo and in Palmar de Bravo in Puebla.

The findings were made on dirt roads and vacant lots affecting a total of six Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) pipelines.

In all six cases, the National Guards implemented perimeter security operations and reported the findings to Pemex specialists, who proceeded to cut off the fuel supply to the affected lines.

The Office of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in each of the states was notified for a corresponding investigation.
