National Guard finds two tons of drugs and weapons hidden in poultry boxes

Ocotlán, Jalisco — More than two tons of drugs and weapons were confiscated from the back of a cargo truck in Jalisco Wednesday. Elements of the National Guard made the seizure that included marijuana, methamphetamine, firearms and ammunition.

The seizure occurred on the Poncitlán-Ocotlán federal highway during the inspection of a cargo truck. The illegal items were found concealed in cardboard boxes marked as poultry products.

Some of the seized items included nearly 20 kilos of methamphetamine, handguns, a sub-machine gun and ammo. The driver of the unit was taken into custody.
