National Guard destroys 5,200 square meters of pot crops

Aguililla, Michoacán — The National Guard and the Mexican Army located and destroyed three fields of marijuana in the state of Michoacán. The fields were located in a mountainous area over the weekend.

They were found during security and surveillance patrols in the town of El Tigre, in the municipality of Aguililla, Michoacán. Patrolling military recognized the crop of marijuana plants.

Some of the plants in the first crop were more than a meter in height. A continued tour lead them to the discovery of two more crops.

Authorities determined the three pot crops took up approximately 5,200 square meters of area. They were destroyed by means of labor and incineration. A search for possible owners was made but without any results.
