Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A man from Holland has been arrested by the Secretary of Citizen Security (SSC) police on drug charges. According to the SSC, Berry “N” was arrested after a narcotics dog sniffed out his drug stash.
The arrest took place in central Playa del Carmen when the dog, along with its handler, were patrolling the city center on foot. As the dog passed the man, it marked him positive for illegal substances.
During an inspection, municipal police reported finding a variety of narcotics on the Dutch citizen. In a statement, the SSC (Seguridad Ciudadana Solidaridad) said “a Dutch citizen was arrested by the Municipal Citizen Security Secretariat and 13 bags with possible narcotics and two grinders with green and dry vegetable residues with the characteristics of marijuana were seized from him.
“Berry “N”, 32 years old, originally from Holland, was arrested during a police operation in the first square of the city after one of the members of the canine team sat in front of him and sniffed him insistently, as a passive marking when recognizing odors of some illicit substance.
“After the arrest, he was placed at the disposal of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for possible drug dealing.”
