Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — With the help of a narcotics dog, a woman exiting a passenger bus in central Playa del Carmen was arrested by police for drug possession. The arrest took place at a central ADO bus station just as the female passenger got off an arriving bus.

Elements of the Municipal Police made the arrest during a tour of the downtown bus station after their canine identified her bag. The woman, Lizeth P.R., was stopped and her bag searched. Police found five 1-kilo packages of marijuana had been stuffed into her luggage.

The woman and her five kilos of marijuana were seized by police and transferred to the Special Prosecutor’s Office.
