Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — An irregular community in the extreme west of Playa del Carmen will be included in municipal services. Mayor Lili Campos says the municipalization of the Cristo Rey neighborhood has been finalized, which will now allow the city to provide them with public services.
The first thing on the list, Campos said, are negotiations with CFE. She says they have already begun talks with the Federal Electricity Commission and Aguakan to introduce the needed infrastructure into the Cristo Rey settlement.
Campos also said that talks are also being had with the federal government to provide quality public services to families living in the Cristo Rey settlement which will include lighting and policing.
